This extremely useful book on Central Australian grasses can easily be kept in the car glovebox and identifies more than 40 grass species found in the area.  There is a photograph of the plant for each grass along with a photograph of the seed head.  Apart from a detailed plant description, the book advises habitat and grazing value (important to land holders) along with relevant notes on each species.
