Over the Fence and Overlooked: Traditional Plants in Queensland’s Gardening Heritage

This title is an appeal to collectors of old-fashioned ornamental plant varieties and to enthusiastic amateur garden historians.  It focuses on the plants themselves rather than garden design.  The natural history of any old garden is a process of decay and rebuilding and renewal.  The natural enemy of our most valuable horticultural material is habitat loss through the invidious and destructive process of subdivision of old Queensland gardens.
