A Field Guide to Plants of the Barkly Region: Northern Territory

The authors of this book have had a lengthy association with the Barkly region and hold a widespread knowledge of the flora of this diverse region of Northern Australia. Due to the large contrast in soils and climate the region is an ecological transition zone, where distribution of both tropical and arid flora often overlap. This publication aims to enrich the experience of all who visit the Barkly region through a greater understanding of the plants that exist in this unique environment.  The ability to identify the plants that surround us allows for a greater understanding of our natural environment and our interaction with it.
