There are more than 200 species of orchids known from Tasmania. This field guide has illustrations and descriptions of most of the common species. This pocket size book is written by APST members, with botanically correct illustrations drawn and hand painted, also by APST members. It also provides the location where they made be found when conditions are right. The majority of Tamania’s orchid species are found in the warmer lowland areas, especially close to the sea. Peak flowering time is generally October and November and a few native species have taken to growing in suburban gardens.
