The Making of Australia: A Concise History

Australian history has no agreed starting point and is, of course, unfinished. However, the period from 1788 to 2025 gives us an expansive historical record. First published in 2014, this second edition new edition published in 2026 adds another twelve years to the story and gives the opportunity to revise some aspects of the original book.  The past few decades have seen Australia’s history lengthen, not only at the beginning by many thousands of years of Aboriginal occupation, but also at the end with the ever faster rise and fall of governments amongst other things.
